when i joined mouse on the keys, i envisioned a concept that mixes diverse elements of contemporary music, such as dynamic hardcore drumming and modern french harmony with the feeling of a detroit techno follower. since we got an offer to release an album on mule musiq, a label with much diversity in dance and contemporary music - our new album has been pulled out of us by itself- reveals the japanese acoustic and electric piano player daisuke niitome. together with drummer and piano player akira kawasaki and synth and piano player atsushi kiyota he is mouse on the keys, an energetic, hard to pigeonhole tokyo based trio that combines the sound of divers pianos and synthesizers with out-there drumming.

walking through the skyÉfive years ago christian naujoks, peter m. kersten and richard von der schulenburg started a series of spontaneous recording sessions without any intention or idea. the only thing what held the group together were the immediate results hitting the three musicians straight inside their hearts. jazz as a metaphor of instrumental conversation, improvisation in the most dillettant way, science as a matter of exploring the opposite sound of what instruments were built to, these might be parts of a concept where there was none.

when messiaen set out to transcribe birds songs as models for his compositions, he couldn t have predicted that by now wild birds would have started to learn mobile phone ringtone patterns. for a system of objects, raudive aka oliver ho maps an obliquely constructed world in which you lose all certainty of what is nature and what is design. raudive celebrates dance and auditory scenes as rituals, employing our surroundings as sources of ahistorical found sound - primitive technologies used to reach magickal states. a drum machine and a wooden stick, a sawtooth-shaped electric current and a split rock all turn into empirical objects of the same class, without a definite past or a predictable impact.
